Words With Friends word finder
The same search as our Scrabble finder, scored with Words With Friends letter values — which differ from Scrabble's on many tiles, so the best play in one game is often not the best in the other. Racks, blanks, board patterns, and premium squares all work the same way.
How to use it
- Type your tiles; add one ? per blank — CAT? plays your three letters plus a wild tile.
- Fit plays around existing tiles with rack / pattern: RETINA? / C..T.
- Mark double and triple squares under Premium squares to score the actual board position.
- Sort by score — WWF values reward different letters than Scrabble, so the ranking really does change.
Example searches
RETINA?- every word from RETINA plus one blank
*T.P*- words containing T, any letter, then P — a fragment search
.A.E- four-letter words with A second and E fourth
Questions & answers
Is this the official Words With Friends dictionary?
No — it searches the public-domain ENABLE list, which overlaps heavily with the WWF dictionary but is not identical. A rare word accepted here may occasionally be rejected in the game.
Are the letter scores really different from Scrabble?
Yes. Words With Friends has its own tile values — for example H is worth 3 (Scrabble: 4) — so this mode scores with the WWF table, not Scrabble's.
